Reflexology

Reflexology is the ancient art of applying different pressures and massage techniques to the feet. We believe that the whole of the body is mirrored within the feet and that by applying gentle pressure all the body systems can be stimulated. Reflexology works deeply, helping us to cope on a mental, physical and emotional level, until the body's own healthy balance is reached.

Reflexology has been shown to be effective for the following:-

Arthritis :: Back Pain :: Digestive disorders :: Hormonal imbalances :: Infertility :: Migraine :: Skin conditions :: Sleep disorders :: Sports injuries :: Stress

Reflexology does not claim to cure, prescribe or diagnose. Many doctors, consultants and other health care practitioners now recognise reflexology as a well established, respected and effective complementary therapy.

Working for companies of all sizes, I know the importance of wellbeing within the workplace. These days, the modern way is to rush and bustle without a moment's reflection on how our bodies are coping. Not until the mechanical parts break down do we stop and wonder what happened to our physical and mental wellbeing.

Indian Head Massage

The ancient healing wisdom of India, Ayurveda, involves the balance of the head and feet. Indian Head Massage dates back to about 4000 years and employs the use of a range of varying massage, pressures and rhythms to stimulate and gently manipulate the soft tissue in the shoulders, neck and scalp. The combination helps the circulatory, muscular and nervous systems. This in turn stimulates the skin and underlying nerve endings, frees muscular tension and stimulates lymphatic flow.

Hopi Ear Candling

This ancient therapy has been practised for centuries by the Hopi Indian Tribe in South Western America. The light suction effect of the lighted candle has a gentle massaging action on the ear drum and ossicle bones. The herbs, wax and honey, which are impregnated in the linen or cotton structure of the candle are vaporised and drawn down, helping to soothe and stimulate the sinuses. The treatment is followed by a gentle face massage.

Ear Candling may help with:-

Snoring :: Headaches and Migraine :: Colds and Influenza :: Labyrinthitis :: Excessive or compacted ear wax :: Tinnitus :: Neuralgia.

Herbal Ramblings

Even in the most urban of spaces we have
a wealth of plants around us. Look up to
some forgotten gutter and you will often see
a plant thriving in the most precarious
fashion! Cast your eyes around, you will
find herbs that will heal you, soothe you,
and even stop bleeding.

Cosmetics, shampoos, soaps, salves,
tinctures and furniture polish can all be
made at home with natural ingredients.

Join me on a journey of discovery. Take a gentle ramble and meet the plants that you
can use safely and those which should be avoided. It was on a foray into the
hedgerows for ingredients for a country
wine that I found one of my terriers picking
and eating blackberries with great dexterity! Even Daisy, my terrier, knew that they were good for her! Discover the hidden benefits of the humble nettle. Learn how to make salves and tinctures. Many of you will never again despair over your ‘weedy lawn’ or see it as
just grass!

The workshops and retreats both here and
in SW France are informal and informative
and I am told, very enjoyable.

“Anona’s knowledge of nature’s plants and
their healing properties is astonishing. I
learned so much. I hope to repeat her wonderful workshop soon.”
